Egg Plate Alert

L. E. Smith Glass Company is currently re-issuing the 13” egg plate. It is available in amethyst, cobalt, pink, willow blue, vaseline, jadeite, light green, light green satin, vaseline carnival, colonial blue, and colonial blue carnival. Many of these colors weren’t available before, so this is not a problem. However, the egg plate was available in colonial blue. It is my understanding there is no way to determine the newer plates from the older plates. This is a shame that the Smith Glass did not at least put some mark on the plate so the collector could distinguish the glass.
